A Carp on the Egg, Greggs, Eggs!
A small video of the carp swimming back to the flats after taking an Egg pattern. I hooked into 3 other carp but this guy had the best release. All were taken on an Egg pattern.
I had to chuckle when I saw your title. That fly is the last one of the swap most will try and that's fine with me. There are so many positives, fewer negatives, than many carp flies. Glad they work for you!!!
Hehe Gregg, I am so darn happy with them, of course I have just caught a tree with the fly you tied up so now I am strictly homemade now. Wow they all still work. I had one big carp actually back up and turn to get at the egg. He then ran under a tree and broke me off but boy was that a cool thing to witness.
Thanks for viewing. By the way, do you have a blog? Lonny
That is cool, last egg I lost to a carp was one I hooked hanging out by a downed tree. It was suspended under an indicator at the level they were at when they came and went and I knew what I was up against when one poked his nose out and inhaled the thing. Good thing I didn't lose a line, it was a mess. I lost a fly from the swap also to a tree recently, dog done it, and I knew it was there. I don't have a blog but it has been suggested-quite a commitment I see from the ones I follow. By the way, I have ONE running water carp fishery, (the mighty and prolific Snake just lacks access for me), and they do well there as well.
Trevor, just finished reading your post. I am a huge believer in Greggs Eggs now. Wow, its the only thing that turns their head this time of year. Glad they are working out for you also.

Way cool! Gregg
That's it. I'm taking off work tomorrow and hitting the carp flats. Cool vid Lonny. Got me jonesin' for some carp awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteAnd Gregg, about the blog, we're all waiting dude.
Glad the video inspired you to get out and fish some for carp Ty.
DeleteGood luck man!
Lonny
Thanks for the vote of confidence regarding the blog. You guys have more confidence in that than I do. Anxious to hear of the latest carp trips.

Just broke in my egg today too. Very interesting, it worked on some fish that usually nothing works on.
